Daniel's Story – From the first inspection to the open road
I’m super grateful to have found Esteban to help me purchase a 4×4 for overlanding in South America.
I wouldn’t have even tried to navigate the logistics and paperwork of purchasing a vehicle as a foreigner, but Esteban was a godsend and helped every step of the way. He is not a mechanic but has a vast wealth of knowledge about the different vehicle types and capabilities and condition of the motor.
He visited cars for sale that I selected to inspect, and turned down the first 4 we saw due to being in poor shape. When we found one that was in good shape, he took it to a mechanic to get it checked and we decided to purchase.
Then, he organized all the paperwork, he has a notary contact who can get the registration expedited from 1 month to 1 week (although this does cost a few hundred euro). Then he helped by getting some preventive maintenance work done with his local contacts to get the vehicle in tip top condition for the trip. He helped me find supplies for camping. He even took me to an off road area in Paraguay to teach me some of the basics of off-roading.
I have now left Paraguay on my trip but Esteban has been available for help and all my questions, and if I need any spare parts he will send them to wherever I am.
